Perry Gershon Raises More Than $1,000,000 In Bid for New York’s 1st Congressional District

Entrepreneur, and Democratic candidate for New York’s 1st Congressional District, Perry Gershon, today announced that he’s raised more than $1,000,000 in his challenge to Rep. Lee Zeldin (R).

“We’ve been overwhelmed with this outpouring of support for my campaign, and the momentum is building from every part of the district. Long Islanders are fed up with Lee Zeldin’s extremism and inability to protect our community from Donald Trump’s dangerous agenda,” said Gershon.

“These new fundraising numbers reflect an encouraging vote of confidence in our campaign and now it’s time to ensure our Congressman fights for us and not their personal agenda.”

In addition to raising more than $1,000,000 in 2017 Gershon’s campaign finance report shows more than $800,000 cash on hand. Public polling continues to show Zeldin with a low approval rating among voters in CD-1 and the race is shaping up to become one of the most competitive districts in the country.

“Over the coming months, I’ll continue to speak with people in communities across Suffolk County to let them know they can count on me to fight for high paying jobs, affordable healthcare, and a clean environment,” added Gershon.
