The fire marshal had to kick us out

I was all set to debate Lee Zeldin last night in Mastic at the Mastic Park Civic Association's Candidate Night.

One problem: Lee didn't show up to debate.

I guess Lee would rather hide behind Donald Trump and his extreme sycophants than face me and account for his terrible record.

Donate and let's vote out Lee Zeldin once and for all.

Without Lee, I took the stage last night to make my case to my NY-1 neighbors. But the moderator cut us short because Lee was absent, and the crowd was livid.

Getting only a few minutes to debate the state of our country? Not nearly enough time, considering everything that's going on right now.

So, after the event, I headed for the parking lot. Surrounded by people who agree with me and, yes, people who disagree with me. We talked. We debated. We exchanged ideas until the fire marshal said we had to go. Democracy in action.

If Lee Zeldin had been there last night, he would have seen the best of Suffolk County. It's not just his loss. It's a loss for Long Island.

Which is why I'm running. In Congress, I'll be a voice for affordable healthcare for all, a woman's right to choose, reforming our broken gun safety laws, protecting the environment, and creating good jobs here on Long Island. And, yes, even finding common ground where I can with people who disagree with me.

We have 40 days until the Election. 40 days to move this race from a toss-up to a WIN and vote out Lee Zeldin.

Stand with me. Donate before our critical end-of-quarter fundraising deadline.
