they spray-painted swastikas on our signs

It is with anger and sadness that I must share disturbing news in our campaign's closing days: one of my Long Island neighbors had their Perry Gershon yard sign spray-painted with a swastika.

I am deeply proud of my Jewish heritage. Finding fellowship in my synagogue and raising my boys, Logan and Marshall, to be good men with faith is a tremendous privilege.

This is solely about terror: people whose hearts are filled with hate attempting to scare us into silence, into not speaking out for fear of exactly what that dark image symbolizes.

Our campaign is about giving voice to the voiceless, about empowering the powerless, about giving hope to people who live in fear. About challenging this kind of hate and divisiveness.

They want us to be afraid because, in truth, they are the ones who are scared.

Scared of losing power. Scared of being unable to openly persecute marginalized communities. Scared of what comes next.

I'll tell you what comes next: an America where this kind of vile hate is our past—not the present and future.

There are two days to go. Let's send a message to those who perpetrate these acts: that there is no place for your hate in America.

Here's how you can help right now:

You are not alone. We're in this together.

I'm a businessman, not a career politician, so I look at things differently.
Government cannot fix our problems, but I believe we can work together to provide opportunity and create an economy that works for all of us.
