Not just at the starting line:

Here on Eastern Long Island, we need a representative with a strong, progressive voice who is willing to fight for what's right — good-paying jobs, fairer taxation, affordable healthcare, protecting our clean air and water, and quality, accessible education.

That's what I heard all over Long Island in 2018. It's what I kept hearing in the months after the election, after almost upsetting Lee Zeldin. People want to continue the momentum we've built, the grassroots energy that almost propelled us to victory.

That's why I want to talk to you right now about... marathons.

Stay with me. I have run 21 marathons and will be completing another this October.

A political campaign is kind of like a marathon. You put in effort. You put in heart. And, with the support of the people around you, you try to get across the finish line.

In 2018, Team Gershon was this close to getting there – just four points from victory! We gave Lee Zeldin the scare of his political life and left it all on the course.

Now it's 2020. Now we're back in the race. We're ready to finish what we started and WIN.

Only this time, we're not just at the starting line. We're two years stronger. We've trained hard. Our team is bigger than ever before. And, this go-around, we're going to get the job done. The threats are real - loss of coverage for pre-existing conditions, climate change and rising water levels everywhere, tax laws that favor Topeka Kansas over Brookhaven, and favor wealthy corporations over the struggling middle class.

I'm ready to be the leader Long Island deserves, and I've got a big team that's ready to help me get the job done in 2020. Chip in right now and stand with me as we finish what we started and defeat Lee Zeldin.

Team Gershon is going to get the job done in 2020. We just completed a huge quarter, but we cannot let up before Zeldin is defeated. All we need is you.

Let's get going.

For 25 years, I have been a common-sense businessman — not a career politician — so I look at things differently. I know about fixing dysfunction. It starts with hard work, a commitment to results, and perseverance — not scoring cheap political points. We can work together to provide opportunity and create an economy that works for all of us.
