We can support local food banks, and still win this race

Part of surviving this pandemic is looking out for the people in our community who are struggling the most in Suffolk County. Those families, living paycheck to paycheck, often working several jobs, were already having to make tough choices even before the coronavirus arrived here. Now, forced to stay home and many without a paycheck, they need all of us to step up and help.

So our plan for the traditional end-of-quarter fundraising deadline is a little different from usual:

Every donation made to Team Gershon through the end of March using the links in our emails will be personally matched by me and Lisa with a donation to our local food banks.

If you chip in right now — you will help us win in 2020 AND help feed Long Island families during this difficult time.

Long Island Cares and East End Food Pantry were already doing critical work leading up to this pandemic. Now, their cause is all-the-more important, given how hard the coronavirus, and lost wages as a result, have hit our friends and neighbors.

Even through this crisis, Lee Zeldin remains more interested in parroting the president's remarks, even when they are blatantly wrong or misleading, than helping his constituents deal with what we are facing right now. He has shown us that it is even more imperative that we defeat him in November.

Let's make a difference for our country — by helping me defeat Lee Zeldin in the November elections. I commit to do my part right now to help hungry families across Long Island.

Join Team Gershon — donate to our campaign before the end-of-quarter fundraising deadline tomorrow and Lisa and I will match that donation with one of our own to local not-for-profit organizations that are so critical right now.

Thanks and please stay home and stay safe.

For 25 years, I have been a common-sense businessman — not a career politician — so I look at things differently. I know about fixing dysfunction. It starts with hard work, a commitment to results, and perseverance — not scoring cheap political points. We can work together to provide opportunity and create an economy that works for all of us.
