Black lives matter. Congress must act to eradicate racial injustice and police brutality.

Black lives matter.

I am outraged at the continuous, senseless killing of black people, at the hands of police brutality.

I feel strongly that those officers who display such disregard for life should be fully prosecuted, and should pay for their crimes, and I am sure there are many, including those in law enforcement, who feel the same.

This is a travesty in America and we cannot be silent any longer. I will always support Americans' right to peacefully assemble, demonstrate, and protest. Not only is it our Constitutional right, but when we see injustice, we have an obligation to speak out. It is simply, American.

Protests alone will not eradicate racial injustice or inequality. We need Congress to act.

There are three key pieces of legislation right now in the House of Representatives and I am calling on Lee Zeldin to support all them:

Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley's resolution, H. R. 988, calling on Congress to condemn police brutality, racial profiling, and the use of excessive and militarized force.

The Eric Garner Excessive Use of Force Prevention Act, H.R. 4408, which makes choke holds a civil rights violation.

The National Statistics on Deadly Force Transparency Act, H.R. 119, that requires law enforcement agencies to provide data to the Department of Justice with details of instances of deadly force.

These bills are common sense legislation that would go far to combat the police brutality that happened to George Floyd and too many others before him.

Zeldin owes the people he represents, especially minority communities, to support such legislation.

For 25 years, I have been a common-sense businessman — not a career politician — so I look at things differently. I know about fixing dysfunction. It starts with hard work, a commitment to results, and perseverance — not scoring cheap political points. We can work together to provide opportunity and create an economy that works for all of us.
