Why I'm Running

I’m fed up. Lee Zeldin, Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress are leading the effort to take away health care for millions of Americans, putting special interests and personal profit first, and fighting against the interests of the people of Long Island.

And that’s why I’m running for Congress.

It’s time Long Island had a strong voice to fight for high-paying jobs, affordable health care, high-quality education, and clean air and water. Rather than stand by as Donald Trump and Washington politicians try to divide us, we can rebuild the middle class.

I’m a businessman, not a career politician, so I look at things differently. Government cannot fix our problems, but I believe we can work together to provide opportunity and create an economy that works for all of us.

One of every 12 people in our district lives below the poverty line. Since 2005, median household income in Suffolk County has grown by less than one percent annually, while inflation has been roughly 2.3 percent -- that’s outrageous. We’ve got the best, brightest, most hard-working people in Long Island - and all they’re looking for is a fair shot. I will work tirelessly to represent this community and make Suffolk County a better place to live, work, and raise a family.

I believe all children should have the opportunity to thrive and succeed, regardless of what neighborhood they live in or how much their parents make. I’ll fight to bring high-skill, high-wage jobs to Long Island so that families don’t have to leave to raise their children. Long Islanders have a right to affordable and accessible health care, quality public education, and a tax code that’s fair to the middle class. Lee Zeldin isn’t fighting for these rights. I will.
